Floor Heating Cable Jacket: DX750 For Long Run Stability
  • Product Details

A floor heating cable is sold as one continuous length buried in screed, and that single fact drives the extrusion: you cannot stop to clean a die, because a stop means a joint, and a joint under a screed is a future failure claim. Xiangxi DX750 — white pellet silicone masterbatch on a PE+ carrier at 1–2%, typically 1.5% — suppresses the die build-up that forces those stops, holds torque flat across a multi-kilometre run, and gives a jacket surface smooth enough to keep the outer diameter inside the IEC 60800 tolerance from start to finish.

Why long heating cable runs go out of tolerance

  • Deposit growth over hours — a run measured in kilometres gives residues time to accumulate at the die; the effective gap changes and the OD drifts slowly out of band.
  • Torque creep — filled jacket compounds warm up over a long run, melt temperature rises with them, and the line drifts off its set point.
  • Surface defects under screed — the jacket sits in alkaline cement for decades, and any scratch or void in that surface is where attack starts.

Which grade for floor heating cable jacket

DX750 is the general-purpose grade and the right fit for a continuous-run jacket: it keeps the die clean over hours rather than minutes, which is the only thing that matters when a stop means a joint. Where the jacket is crosslinked for a higher temperature rating, DX753A is qualified for that step. Jackets with heavy mineral filler are better served by DX751B, and thick-wall constructions where shear is low but output is high do well on DX752B.

Processing notes

  • Dry-blend at the hopper with the jacket compound, or use a loss-in-weight feeder so the dosage cannot drift during a multi-hour run.
  • Start at 1.0%, then 1.5%, then 2.0%, and judge each by the OD trend across a full drum, not by the first hundred metres.
  • Log motor load and melt temperature every hour; a flat line across the run is the real proof the die is staying clean.
  • Retain jacket samples from the start, middle and end of the run for your alkaline immersion and heat-resistance testing.

Results to verify in your own lab

  • OD stability: tighter spread between the start and the end of a full run, inside the IEC 60800 tolerance.
  • Continuous length: more kilometres produced between stops, with fewer joints and less start-up scrap.
  • Torque trend: flat motor load across the run instead of a slow climb.
  • Alkaline resistance: tensile and elongation retention unchanged after the IEC 60811 immersion sequence.

Frequently asked questions

What dosage of DX750 for a continuous heating cable run?

Start at 1.5%. PE jackets usually settle between 1.0% and 1.5%; filled or softer TPE jackets often need 1.5–2.0%.

Does it help or hurt alkaline resistance under screed?

It helps indirectly: a smoother, void-free surface gives the alkaline medium less to attack. Confirm with the IEC 60811 immersion sequence on your own jacket.

Will it change the heat resistance or the 90 °C rating?

No. It does not alter the polymer's thermal rating. Re-run your IEC 60800 heat-resistance and pressure tests on the finished cable.

Can it be used on the heating conductor insulation as well?

Yes if that layer is PE-based. Thin insulation runs better on DX752A; crosslinked layers on DX753A.

Does it affect printing of the metre markings?

No. Inkjet and hot-foil marking work without pre-treatment, and the smoother surface usually improves mark legibility.

Does DX750 meet RoHS and REACH requirements?

Yes. Xiangxi wire and cable grades are RoHS and REACH compliant, SGS tested, produced under ISO 9001, and shipped with a COA per batch.
