Silicone Masterbatch Solutions for Home Appliances

Home appliance plastic housing parts with silicone masterbatch additives

Consumers judge a washing machine or air conditioner by how its plastic parts look and feel after two years — not on day one. Scratched control panels, dull housings and rattling internal parts drive complaints and returns. Xiangxi's PP anti-scratch agents, silicone masterbatches and engineering-plastic lubricants help appliance molders produce housings, panels and inner components that keep their finish, run through molds faster and pass brand material compliance lists.

Key Challenges in Home Appliance Molding

  • Scratched, glossy-loss surfaces — PP/ABS housings and panels mark easily during assembly, transport and cleaning.
  • Sticky, slow cycles — large thin-wall parts need high injection pressure; mold deposits force downtime.
  • Noisy, wearing internal parts — gears, sliders and bushings need low friction and low wear for quiet operation.
  • Food-contact and material compliance — inner parts near food or water must pass strict compliance lists.
  • Cost pressure — every gram of additive must show measurable benefit in yield or cycle time.

Recommended Xiangxi Solutions

1. PP Anti-Scratch Agent (DX75 Series)

The DX75 anti-scratch agent keeps control panels, door liners and housings looking new: lower scratch visibility, stable gloss and a pleasant surface feel — even on talc-filled PP used in washers and AC units.

2. Silicone Masterbatch for Housings and Thin-Wall Parts

Silicone masterbatch improves melt flow so large, thin-wall appliance parts fill at lower pressure, cutting cycle time and warp risk while improving demolding and surface gloss.

3. Engineering Plastics Lubricants

For PA/POM gears, sliders and connectors inside appliances, our engineering-plastics lubricants reduce friction and wear, lowering noise and extending service life.

Typical Appliance Applications

ComponentBenefit
Washer/AC control panels and door parts (PP, talc-filled)Scratch and mar resistance, stable gloss, better touch
Thin-wall housings and coversEasier filling, shorter cycles, fewer short-shot defects
Internal gears, cams, slides (POM/PA)Low friction, quiet operation, longer wear life
Kitchen appliance parts near food contactLow-migration silicone system, REACH/RoHS compliant

FAQ — Home Appliances

Can the anti-scratch agent be used in talc-filled PP for washer panels?

Yes — talc-filled interior PP is the main application for the DX75 series. It reduces scratch whiteness and keeps gloss stable at 1–3% dosage.

Will silicone masterbatch change the color or transparency of housings?

No significant influence. The siloxane is dispersed at micro level and compatible with normal masterbatch coloring; transparency products should start trials with our low-haze grades.

Does it help with cycle time on large thin-wall parts?

Yes. Improved melt flow typically allows lower injection pressure and temperature, which shortens cooling and cycle time and reduces warp.
